Letter 4: I want to know you

I want to know you;
Like all beautiful things are known,
like winter’s wind kiss,
and like a summer sun burn,
I want to know you;
How you ache & how you yearn,
How you linger, how you miss…

I want to know you;
Like all quiet things are known,
Like a deeply focused mind,
and like a pondering presence,
I want to know you;
How you pierce into each essence,
How, in the gutter, diamonds—you find…

I want to know you;
Like all happy things are known,
Like a baby’s smile,
and like a caring mother,
I want to know you;
Like I have known no other,
Like Eternity in a while..

I want to know you;
Like all sad things are known,
Like a broken heart,
and like a untold story,
I want to know you;
How you pay for the moments of glory,
How your soul may break apart…

I want to know you;
Like all divine things are known,
How Life whispers God in your soul,
and how you whisper back a prayer,
and send it deep upon the air,
and let your voice, before you, stroll,
How you have left the Lord,
and found him back within,
How you long deep for sin
How you find Life back in the Word…
