O’ my second self, my swooning soul, O’ fading flame;
Renounced are all the words I call, knowing your name.
O’ my long-lost love —O’ my absent queen;
although you may remain unseen,
between my sorrow & my thrill.
Before we meet Oh linger still,
In my wretched world as it’s always been,
of dreadful death’s shattering shrill.
& may my stay be sweet —serene,
with you with me as it’s always been.
O’ my second self, my swooning soul, O’ fading flame;
Renounced are all the words I call, knowing your name.
When will we meet or have we met?!
Such hapless hope or dark regret.
To think that I may meet you then,
I never yet.
Though I hope & pray & roam & stray
each nightless night & dayless day.
In August stars & it’s nights’ lost wars.
In November rains & the Autumn strains.
In the winter skies & forlorn tries.
In the newborn spring  & the sunburnt May.
I hope & pray & vow each day
A silent vow.
To find you back no matter when.
& lose you not no matter how.
Yet only when,
I think that I may lose you then,
I lose you now.
O’ my fading flame;
Renounced are all if I know your name…
