Oblivion

Inspired by  “Oblivion”  Music by Astor Piazzolla:

Out of the sea the hymns of nostalgia were resonating as one
Singing of a Love unto the garish skies.
Out of the sea the hymns of nostalgia were resonating as one
Thinking of all the wherefores and whys,

& as she thought of all the whences, wherefores and whys,
The deepest hurt that the reason seemed it’s deep inside.
As she thought of all the whences, wherefores and whys,
The deepest hurt was all his reasons he did hide.

The deepest hurt was all his reasons he did always hide.
Though, she kept roaming through the past.
The deepest hurt was all his reasons he did always hide.
That’s how she knew this letter was the last.

Somehow she knew his letter in her hands was the last,
Before she ever could unfold.
Somehow she knew his letter in her hands was the last.
Somehow her heart seemed ages old.

Somehow her hollow heart seemed ages & ages old,
Out of each remembrance she could retain.
Somehow her hollow heart seemed ages & ages old,
That’s why she knew her heart would break again.

Something told them that her heart would break again.
Just like it did through each unanswered prayer.
Something told them that her heart would break again.
It told the sea, the sun, the sky, & the air.

It told the sea. It told the sun. It told the sky. It told the air.
It told the nature that was her dearest at the time.
It told the sea. It told the sun. It told the sky. It told the air.
It told in prose, & verse, & speech,  & rhyme.

It told in prose. It told in verse. It told in speech. It told in rhyme.
It told what nature could have never claimed.
It told in prose. It told in verse. It told in speech. It told in rhyme.
It told how the wooden dock was so ashamed.

Indeed across the boats, the wooden dock was so ashamed.
How nature all around could not give her relief?
Indeed across the boats, the wooden dock was so ashamed.
It had to be the grounds she’d tread in grief.

The wooden docks had to be the grounds she’d tread in grief.
On which she’d stand like no one ever stood.
The wooden docks had to be the grounds she’d tread in grief.
Yet she needed now to crumble on a piece of wood.

Yet as she ceased to walk, slowly she crumbled on a piece of wood.
So that she’d quietly start to read.
As she ceased to walk, slowly she crumbled on a piece of wood.
In false hope or in deep defeat.

She crumbled deep into her false hope or her deep defeat,
& into her own memories, so much did she wallow.
She crumbled deep into her false hope or her deep defeat,
In an ache hard to bear, in a plague hard to swallow.

& In an ache too hard to bear, in a plague too hard to swallow.
She began to unfold the letter
& In an ache too hard to bear, in a plague too hard to swallow.
Prepared to face demons so longed meet her.

She was prepared to face the demons that longed meet her.
Her eyes have strolled his words that petrify.
She was prepared to face the demons that longed meet her.
Prepared to greet that much delayed goodbye.

She was prepared to greet that much delayed goodbye.
Prepared to face that pinnacle of her sorrow.
She was prepared to greet that much delayed goodbye.
Prepared to let go of a long prepared tomorrow.

She thought she could let go of a quite prepared tomorrow.
She thought she could but never she can.
She thought she could let go of a quite prepared tomorrow.
A tomorrow she utterly gave to one man.

A tomorrow she utterly gave to just one man.
& so much pieces within her gave in.
A tomorrow she utterly gave to just one man.
For Love was her only crime & sin.

Sincerity was her only vice and Love was her only sin.
Yet for that she needed no redemption.
Sincerity was her only vice and love was her only sin.
That from her life she much-needed exemption.

Yet from her own life she much-needed exemption.
For in her body, her soul could barely dwell.
Yet from her own life she much-needed exemption.
For she froze by that scorching pain of hell.

Her body froze by that scorching pain of hell.
The air that touched her cheeks had bitter frost…untold.
Her body froze by that scorching pain of hell.
& where she laid her feet waters just felt so cold.

For where she laid her feet, the caressing waters just felt so cold.
For the seas of Love into her flooded inside out.
For where she laid her feet, the caressing waters just felt so cold.
Till the seas inside was worshiped by the sea without.

The seas inside of her was worshiped by the sea without.
That was nature’s aid as commanded from above.
The seas inside of her was worshiped by the sea without.
For nothing’s more divine than a lady lost in Love.
